Breathwork to Feel More Joy and Less Stress

In the hustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to get caught up in the chaos, and sometimes, we forget to take a moment for ourselves. Slowing down doesn’t mean giving up; it means giving yourself the gift of presence.

As the world seems to be in a constant state of chaos, finding joy becomes more crucial than ever. However, if you are like me, then you feel some level of guilt toward seeking joy when it is not an option for so many souls who are struggling right now.

My therapist constantly has to remind me that two emotions can exist at once and sometimes three, four, or twenty emotions can be valid at the same time.

So, what I am trying to say is—the world can be crumbling and you are still deserving of joy.

If you have found it hard to tap into the feelings of joy lately, do me a favor and think about how you are living your life right now.

Are you waking up and immediately getting on your phone?

How is your caffeine intake?

Are you in back-to-back meetings at work?

Are you fitting in time for breaks to move your body in the workday?

When is the last time you took yourself out on a date?

Before we go deeper, I want to be clear—I am not a model citizen here. I am constantly in the hustle and flow of life—failing to tend to my basic needs. So if you answered some of those questions and you are feeling a little low, have no fear, you are not alone. I am with you, but maybe we can change and grow together?

So, let's talk about a potential game-changer: slowing down and listening to your needs.

In the hustle of our daily lives, it's easy to get caught up in the chaos, and sometimes, we forget to take a moment for ourselves. Slowing down doesn't mean giving up; it means giving yourself the gift of presence. Taking a few moments each day to pause, breathe, and check-in with yourself can be a powerful antidote to the stress and overwhelm that often accompanies this stage of life.

I view Breathwork as the unsung hero of self-care.

Our breath is an incredible tool that can anchor us in the present moment, helping us navigate the challenges with grace and poise. Deep, intentional breaths activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting a sense of calm and reducing the impact of stress on our bodies and minds. It's like a mini-vacation for your soul, right in the midst of chaos.

Now, let's talk about joy—the kind that's not dependent on external circumstances. When we slow down and focus on our breath, we create space for joy to enter. Joy is not just a fleeting emotion; it's a state of being that resides within us. By practicing breathwork, we invite in more joy, making it a constant companion, even when the world around us feels like it's crumbling.

Think of breathwork as a daily date with yourself, a sacred ritual that renews your spirit.

So, let's commit to slowing down, practicing breathwork, and embracing the joy that is rightfully ours. After all, in this chaotic world, our joy is our rebellion, and our breath is our superpower.

May we both welcome a life filled with intentional moments of calm and unshakeable joy.
